Indeed. At least the fans care enough about him. And trust me, I am one of those fans who believes that he deserves better treatment than he received in his latest and needless to say shameful appearance. As far as I'm concerned, the original 1986 animated film will probably be the only place in Transformers history in which Rodimus will ever get a chance to shine as an important and special character. Cuz so far, that's the only time he got to have any significance.
Yeah. The writers of Season 3 certainly didn`t do him any justice by making him seem so ineffectual. He was young, he felt the pressure and made mistakes. That`s not unique to him. It would have been great to see him mature into what Optimus was. Instead he got the Matrix snatched away.
he's mumbling "Im never gonna be like optimus, im a loser, im never gonna be like the other primes" not pictured is Ultra Magnus cheering him up and encouraging him that he is a Prime, that he has the touch, he has the power!
Loved the G1 partnership between those 2 mechs, Rodimus had some big shoes to fill and always got discouraged and depressed when he would fail, but Ultra Magnus always acted as a mentor and a friend to encourage him. In my opinon he was every bit as good as optimus, he just needed more experience, then he could have been great
Optimus dying wasn`t entirely his fault. To be fair, Optimus had a really long chance to shoot Megatron and get it over with, and didn`t seize it. Did Hot Rod act hastilyÉ Yes. Is that unique to himÉ Primus no.
